DONATIONS
There are numerous ways in which to give. We have included only a few ways to live generously in Christian faith. They include the following, but are by no means limited to these avenues:
Often people wish to contribute money for a specific aspect of church life in the name of a friend, colleague or family member. Sometimes they wish to donate anonymously. Sometimes not. Memorial Donations are a perfect way to donate to a specific ministry or cause within the church that reflects the values of the loved one being remembered.
During our faith journey as Christians, we begin to look at the future of our children and grandchildren and wish for them the opportunity to experience the journey with Jesus. Leaving a Legacy is a method that provides for the ongoing work of the church and provides our future generations with a stable foundation, a 'rock' if you will, on which to build on their journey with Christ.
In a world filled with turmoil, it is only natural to want to provide for the poor and disadvantaged people in our local and global communities. Providing a gift that will nourish these needs is always a generous way of giving others a leg up in a time of need. Marshall Memorial United Church has been active in both local and global missions over its 60-year history. Locally, we provide for several missions, including The Living Rock and Wesley Urban Ministries. On a more international scale, we have been helping to build homes and schools in the Dominican Republic. We are providing mission ministry to Africa in places like Looderiak, Kenya and Watoto, Uganda. Mission giving is not limited to financial generosity. Each year for the last several years, teams of people from Marshall have travelled to the Dominican Republic to give of their time, talents and sweat by picking up a hammer and helping to actually construct homes and schools.
